To lessen the carbon and environmental footprint and improve a company’s brand image, many organizations are working to develop and use sustainable materials, from recyclable plastics to biodegradable packaging materials. 

The terms “biodegradable”, “compostable” and “recycled” have been ubiquitous these days, but what exactly do they mean? 

How can you evaluate the materials for their biodegradability? 

Is there any requirement set out for recycled materials?
